While in the tax department he concentrated on individual, small business and financial institution taxation. In 1987 Don went into partnership with another CPA and opened their practice in Monroe, Wisconsin. In 1993 Don’s firm merged with Millikin, Kleckler & Co. of Rockford, Illinois. Later the firm became known as Millikin Benning Kleckler & Kobischka, LLC. Since 1987, Don’s firm in Monroe served primarily individuals, small business and financial institutions in the areas of tax return preparation, tax planning and consulting and financial institution director’s examinations. In July 2008, the Monroe office separated from the Rockford office of MBK&K and Benning Group, LLC was formed. In January 2009, the Robert Carlile firm was acquired to arrive at our present structure. This acquisition has expanded our services to the Freeport area from which we continue the practice areas of governmental and not-for-profit auditing as well as income tax preparation and consulting which the Robert Carlile firm was known for.
